One night I had awaken from my sleep because I had to use the bathroom. I sat up straight and looked around my room; I quickly noticed that there was a shadow person in my hallway. I was sleeping with the door open to the hallway that night because earlier nights that week I had creepy feelings as if I were being watched. When I saw the shadow person I was frozen in fear.
The entity was looking into the room across the hall from me. This particular shadow person looked to be female. She was blacker then black and extremely tall, her hair was long, black and looked about 2ft. long. It covered all her face as she was looking into the room across the hall. After about 5 seconds of watching her, she slowly turned her head and was now facing me. Her face had no features or details; it was all black. At the time, I was 11 so naturally I hid under my blankets for the rest of the night awaiting for morning to come.
Since then I've had many more experiences with shadow people. Each time it gets more and more normal to see but still scares me.

I had just built the house that my 8-year-old son and I were living in when one night. I heard him yell out. I had to go down a hall to his room which was dark except for the light coming from the kitchen! When I got to him he was visibly shaken!
I asked him what the problem was and he said, there was a man in a black hat and black trench coat standing in his door way…which I just came through! I thought maybe my ex had come into the house because that was the kind of attire he liked to wear. As I was trying to calm him down he said, “There he is!” I turned around to see a black form in his door way exactly as he described. I jumped back a little and addressed the form with my ex-husband’s name. It then just like vaporized!!
Needless to so I knew it wasn't my ex-husband and we both slept in my room that night!!
The really strange thing is years later I began dating a neighbor across the creek. We were discussing if we believed in ghosts and he told me his granddaughter kept seeing a man in a black trench coat and a Van Helsing hat when she was young!! Wow what a coincident! Is it a spirit of long ago or what?

Subject: Shadow man
Hello!
My story is short and happened years ago in 6th grade. I live in Vermont, and one night during a massive thunderstorm, I had to go to the bathroom. My bedroom at the time was on the second floor to my home and our bathroom was in the corner of my home next to the back entrance.
Anyway, as I walked to the door of the bathroom, there was a big strike of lighting which lit up the hallway. During the quick second of lighting and for minutes afterward, there was, what I have learned, a shadow person no more than two feet in front of me. He was tall, almost 6 feet with broad shoulders and looked like he was wearing a suit. He was all black so there were no details.
When I saw him in the flash, I froze and we both stood there for what felt like hours but couldn't have been more than five minutes. I remember being terrified. After I broke ‘eye contact,’ I quickly reached my hand into the bathroom and turned the light on. Of course he wasn't there when that happened.
I have heard somewhere that tall shadow people are the more demonic or whatever than the shorter ones but the shadow man didn't move or speak to me, he just stood there.
And that's my experience with the shadow people

It almost seems like it didn't happen as it was so many years ago now.
I don't remember my exact age but I would have been around seven or eight, my two brothers and I all shared a bedroom. My bed was parallel to my older brother’s bed while my younger brother’s bed faced another direction at the end of my bed and closer to the bedroom door.
I remember waking in the middle of the night (early morning - between 1am and 4am) for no apparent reason and I was unusually wide eyed and alert. I distinctly remember how unusual I felt being so widely alert after waking so abruptly for no apparent reason. I was quite scared of the dark when I was young and would keep my eyes closed for the fear of seeing something.
When I woke, I had almost a feeling that I had to look around the room which was totally against my normal behaviour - I didn't sit up but did prop myself up a bit. A tall dark figure with what seemed like a long coat walked into the room and stood next to my younger brother’s bed. I was staring at this figure that was staring at my brother sleeping.
I could not make out any features or colours only that it was dark and yet almost see through. After the frozen feeling from the fright wore off and before it could notice me watching it, I decided it was time to hide under the blanket. I didn't dare open my eyes for I was worried I may see the figure’s head peering through the blanket at me.
In the morning I told my mum expecting to have been told the usual "it's a bad dream....etc", instead my mum tells me she has seen this "grey man" also.
She, on several occasions, would for no reason wake in the middle of the night and sit up - the man would walk in the room and stand at the end of the bed and just stare at her until he would eventually fade away. When this would happen, my mum was unable to wake my dad as she was somewhat frozen in the moment.
I never saw the figure again but also didn't go looking for it either
Regards
Tony

Subject: My possible experience.
I'm not sure if anyone will read this, but putting it out there with the chance that maybe someone can help me figure out what I experienced gives me hope. I'm somewhat young (23-year-old college student) but have never been one to fall prey to my emotions or simply believe something paranormal, until last night.
I am staying at my parents’ house for the week and was sleeping on a fold out in my younger brother’s room. It was about 12:30 and I was asleep, but something made me wake up and roll over. When I did I opened my eyes to get situated and looked up to what looked like a man standing next to my brother’s bed. I looked a little harder and the dark shape of a man looked back at me. When I sat up to look closer he just... wasn't there anymore.
I know what your thinking, I was sleeping or dreamed it. But I was awake. I saw a man and then he was no longer there is as simple as I can put it. It took me 2 hours to go back to sleep. It has been on my mind all day since and I just don't know what to do. I believe in the paranormal but am a very rational person and have no one in my family (who won't chalk it up to watching too many horror films) to talk to about it. I've googled and "shadow people" is the closest thing that resembles my experience.

Both sides of my family claim to have seen paranormal activity but I have always kept quiet about how strongly I feel a presence watching me as I sleep.
Usually the presence feels evil and it sits at the end of my bed but last night it was a kind and loving feeling and I felt completely safe. I turned around in my bed and moved the duvet down a little bit which is when I saw a very tall, thin silhouette of a faceless man who scurried away through the wall into my brother’s room just before I could get a good look at him. What scared me the most was that I heard his footsteps which carried on into the next room.
I also heard strange whispers which I couldn't make out. It was almost like I could hear what he was thinking.
I've had lots if these strange occurrences but I thought I would share this one because it intrigues me the most and scares me the least.

January 15, 2016.
I was lying in bed yesterday morning on my phone with my dog; the usual thing I do before I actually get up and start my day. As I was laying there, I heard the door open but no one come down the stairs which is extremely odd since I can usually hear them. I look up from my phone to see a person who was just standing there. A black silhouette of what I think is a man was standing in my doorway. I froze in fear. My dog jumps up and starts barking and growling and she never does that. The thing shut the door and I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out who it was.
Once I got up and opened my door, my older sister came down stairs and I simply asked her if she went in my room and she replied that she just got home. I went upstairs and asked everyone in my family, they all said no. I called my mom who wasn't home and she had been at work all day.
So I have no clue what is going on because I am beyond scared I've been thinking about this all day. And it's just been freaking me out all day. Someone please explain because this has happened before but I never really thought of it.

Ever since I moved into my apartment in mid-October, I've had these weird feelings.
Every time I walk down my stairs I feel something. But one night I woke up and saw a shadow figure at the top of the stairs. I blinked and it was gone. But here lately it keeps getting closer and closer. It started standing in the door way; still disappearing when I blink.
My boyfriend Alex also says he sees something. He woke up one night pointing to the closet while saying, “It's right there.”
Last night (January 15, 2016) Alex woke up and said, "He's here." I looked up and the shadow was standing right at the end of the bed just looking at us. I quickly turned my lamp on. When I did the figure disappeared.
I also have an 11-month old daughter. She always sleeps all night but these past few nights she's woke up screaming at around 2 am every time. I feel as if this is an evil spirt. When Alex said, "He's here," that took the whole cake.
Who is he? And what does he want? About 2 weeks ago I was home alone. Again it was around 2 am, I was sitting in bed listening to music when all of the sudden I started freezing. Remind you it's winter and my heat is always on. I can't anything online as to what is happening in this apartment. I really feel like I'm in danger and need help. I have really been thinking about going to visit a local priest. But I fear that he will say it's my imagination. It's not my imagination. I hear things walking around while I'm downstairs. I need to know what is happening and what I should do.

Subject: My experience with shadow people
Hello! You have an interesting site, and I thought it would be fun to share the experience I've had.
I live in Texas, near the gulf. The house I live in has always given me weird vibes, and some strange things have happened I cannot explain. The mass disappearance and reappearance of most of our forks every few months takes a top spot on the list, aha.
But a few years ago, I saw something rather than just its aftermath. I would sit at my computer desk after school, facing away from the kitchen. One day, I started seeing things out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was only my hair, but still wary, I tied my hair back and continued doing whatever I was occupied with. When I continued to see a blurry darkness in the corner of my eye, I was able to shift a bit so that I had a better view of the kitchen without fully turning around.
Though I didn't see much else that day, over the next few weeks it was more active. He had a pattern, starting at no particular time, but acting the same each day. He was short, sort of hunched over, and glided slowly through my kitchen. He started from the middle of my old dining room table, continued through the kitchen, and seemingly disappeared after crossing under the arch connecting the kitchen to the front hallway of the house.
After about a month of this, I spoke to my mother about it. Without describing him, she explained his appearance (the posture and gait) perfectly to me, so I knew she had genuinely seen him too. I never felt anything bad from him, quite the opposite. His presence was calming, and I was sad when he stopped appearing. It was only a few days after the first time I spoke about him out loud with my mother that he left for good. I've had several other paranormal experiences in my lifetime, and I can say that this one was the calmest and most mundane. Thank you for reading!

I've noticed shadows in the same spot in my home for 10 years or so and have never really bothered with them but yesterday I thought my 6 foot 5-inch son was playing with me when I saw a black figure duck behind a pillar in the same spot as the others, only this time it was a full person. It was tall like my son is but he wasn’t here at the time. Very clear until it ducked behind the pillar I went to see where it went and nothing was there.
I'm curious and would be happy if one had the guts to confront me for a chat.

Subject: Shadow people causing pain
My experience with a shadow person happened when I was three, and happened more than once.
I would wake up at night with a sore throat. It was the same every night. My throat would burn. I would wake up to find a dark creature; the upper half of its body leaning over me through the window next to my bed. It was holding a fire to my throat and I would push its hand away, but each time it was able to put the fire in my throat again. I don't know if I actually saw its hand. I was in complete terror, and could not scream because my throat burned. I only saw the upper part of its body and its eyes. It was dark, seemed to have no neck, kind of a blob. Its eyes were cruel and it seemed to enjoy my pain. It seemed unable to come all the way into our house, so after the initial terror, I would always realize after that I could run out of my room to the safety of my parent’s room.
I do not know how to describe the fire it put in my throat. It was like a lit match, but the shadow person could hold it in my throat without burning my skin. My throat would hurt for days. My parents tried to tell me the sore throat caused me to dream. I knew then as I know now, it was no dream. When I heard a description of shadow people on a TV show, I was gripped with fear.
Whatever it was, it meant to harm me for its own pleasure. Like it enjoyed my pain and fear. I don't know if all shadow people are that way, but my experience has given me a lifelong terror of sleeping by windows, sore throats, and shadows. It may be noteworthy that when telling the story as a child I called it, the devil. That is how sinister it was. My three-year-old mind thought it was the devil, as I had no other reference to evil. I was 15 and sometimes I used to sleep on the lounge in the house where we lived and it was scary.
It was a moonlit night and I was laying on the lounge. The window was near and a black mist wafted past me and started to form into a black figure with a cape and an old fashioned hat, (like in the sword fighting era). The figure was standing there facing the room where my mum and dad slept. I couldn't move; I was terrified.
After what seemed ages, the figure started to disappear mist-like. I got off the lounge and turned the light on. To this day, I sleep with it on. A few weeks later my uncle died.
Years later my daughter who was about 12, ran out of her room (a different house) and said she’d seen ‘a figure’. She drew it and was the same figure I had seen. She was terrified and had wet herself in fright.
There's been a few other incidents in this house but not with shadow people. I've often wondered what we had seen.

Subject: Shadows don't leave me
In every website I've read, they all seem to say that the shadows leave and don't return for some period of time. In my case, they have been around for as long as I can remember.
The only time I didn't see them was for about three years, they just didn't show up. Then about a month ago or so I moved in with my girlfriend and her kids, and they came back but not like before. Now they are there constantly but only in the evening. And they are showing up in groups of three or more. And I do believe some of them to be menacing but they don't seem to be able to interact with us physically.
I'm used to them for the most part, I have even tried talking to them, without a response obviously. But this evening was the most frightened I've ever been. There was three of them in the room with us, one in its normal spot by the closet, one at the foot of the bed and one behind my girlfriend moving toward her with hands reaching for her. This is the first time I have ever seen them with limbs. It scared me so bad, I made her lay down right then so it couldn't touch her because I wasn't taking the chance that it could. The features of them are the usual, for the most part, except the hooded figure became a long haired looking figure that reached out.
The area I live in is Joplin Missouri. I want some type of clarity. Like I said this is new to me and I've been seeing these for almost thirty years. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

I want to share my one and only encounter when I was around 5 years old.
I was laying in my parents bed fully awake, and there was nobody in the house. It was daylight sometime before noon and I was not in state of paralysis as many people reported.
I saw a black head looking directly at me from the other room; only the head could be seen sticking through the door frame and it was about 4-5 meters away. I saw no features of the face or even eyes. The stare was so intense, I felt strong presence in the room and even though I was so scared, somehow I managed not to panic. The head remained in the same position for a long time, it stared at me for at least 10 minutes.
I didn't know what to do to get out of this weird situation so I took a small black Venetian mask that was right next to me on a nightstand and put it on my face in hope it would scare the creature away. After that, I remained still and the head has disappeared after some time. This happened in the 80's, and until recently, I didn't know other people had similar experience.

When I was younger, I used to live in a house which was previously a doctor’s office and I had multiple experiences. My toys would be in different spots, I would get chills, and I could see a shadow figure peeking out from the doorway every night.
One night though really stuck. When I was about 6-7 years old, I was getting dinner one night and I looked over into the doorway leading towards the washer room, I saw a tall, 7-foot male looking shadow figure looking at me with red eyes. I got this sinister feeling so I darted out of the room. I never told my parents.
I still get scared to this day when I think about it. To this day, whenever I think about it, a sudden overwhelming fear rolls over me.

While living in my previous house where two people died (one of the deaths was tragic), that was built in the 50s or 60s, I often saw shadows at night of gender-less people reaching out to me at the foot of my bed but there was one outside my window that looked as if it was wearing a trench coat and fedora. These always freaked me out, seeing as this happened from when I was 9 years old to when we moved when I was 12. And it kept me awake for a long time when I tried to sleep.
A couple months ago, I awoke at 2:30 in the morning to find my door ajar and the shadow of a six-foot-tall man with no features watching me sleep. It did not go away until I got the guts to get up and close my door. It disappeared as soon as I got up.
All of these shadows stopped as soon as I moved out.

I was around 8 or 9 when it happened.
I was living in an old bungalow in Akrotiri, Cyprus, and I woke up around 12 or 1 am. As a young kid I was already slightly afraid of the dark, and so I was frozen in fear when I saw a tall figure of a person wearing what looked like a top hat, the figure looked like a male judging by the square looking shoulders but it had no features at all, just a dark black outline of a man.
The figure stood at the foot of my bed for a while just looking at me, I was shaking. I called for my mum but they couldn’t hear me so as I kept my eye on the figure, I reached over to turn on the lamp and after I turned it on, I ran into my mum and dad’s room and explained what happened. Of course, they didn’t believe me and my dad put me back into bed and told me to try and get some sleep. I went back to sleep eventually but this time with the light on.

Hi
I am Jasen (23) from Johannesburg, South Africa.
When I was much younger (about 11/12 years old), I used to see lightning fast shadows move on the walls in my house and disappear soon as they came. This went on for about a year or two, always around 4pm and then it stopped.
When I was around 19 years old, they started visiting again but this time they weren't the wall runners I met all those years ago. This time they would come as I was asleep and they would wake me in terror. I would feel complete paralysis and inability to breathe even though I was fully aware of what was happening. On the foot of my bed, I would see a shadow silhouette figure that seemed to be wearing a raincoat and a hat. I would immediately then hear screams of agony like someone on fire just screaming their lungs out. It was always the same thing every twice a month until late 2015. My reaction would be to pray and sleep with anyone else that's in the house as the tend to visit when I’m alone. This naturally didn't always stop them.
What do they want? Should I be worried? every Encounter with them they feel stronger than the last.

So it was about 1-2 years ago when I woke up in the middle of the night. I was facing the hallway and its large opening where you can see basically all of the hallway. Anyways, I hadn't moved hardly at all when I woke up. I look up and see two figures both extremely tall (one was slightly shorter) and they were walking back and forth through the hallway and at one point almost went upstairs. They both looked like men and they both seemed solid and not opaque. Which I thought was strange but if it was an intruder, it would have finally did something.
Well they never noticed me looking at them, they just kept pacing. I was scared but the figures didn't seem harmful, and I'm not sure how they left because eventually I fell asleep staring at them.

I had an experience with a shadow person about 3 years ago.
I was asleep in bed with my fiancé. I was lying on my left side facing my bedroom doorway. As soon as I opened my eyes, I was completely alert and aware not groggy or drifting in and out of consciousness. I awoke to see a humanoid, tall, pitch black being I perceived to be male. I assume because of its stature and voice.
Yes, it spoke.
It was exceedingly tall 6'5 minimum. It did have bronze colored eyes and a faint mouth but no others dominate facial features. It's body and limbs, extremities were spindly and branch like but it's torso was broad. It was slightly hunched and as soon as I saw it the panic was overwhelming. When I went to alert my fiancé to retrieve our firearm, it spoke. It said, " I'm going to cut your baby." To which I replied, "Jesus". Then as quickly as it finished it was gone. The whole ordeal maybe lasted 45 seconds.
I immediately jumped out of bed and went to check on my daughter. I retrieved her and put her in bed with myself and her father.
I've never heard of one of these entities speaking to a person. I pray I never experience it again but I would really like to know if anyone else has had this happen. I'm a firm believer in the God of the bible and Jesus. I don't know why or how these things are contacting us but they definitely seem malevolent. It's like they need our fear. I for one do not plan on giving it to them without a fight.

I am 46 years old but I still recall seeing 3 shadow figures in the hallway of our old apartment. I was in Junior High School in Queens, NY at the time.
My sister had moved out to live with our Grandparents and I had essentially taken over her old room which opened in to a windowless central hallway to the rest of the apartment.
I had suffered with insomnia and had always been a lucid dreamer. I woke up about 3am needing the bathroom and opened the door fully to the hallway (I slept with it slightly ajar typically) and walked out. I saw 3 distinct shadow figures appearing male and identical, flat like, moving along a wall in the hallway.
They were moving away from me but seemed odd somehow, like their legs didn't really move, more as if kind of sliding against or in that wall.
I was stunned and as it set in what was happening I became terrified and called out. My Dad came out of his bedroom and told me I must have been dreaming. I know most times when I dream and often become aware in dreams and this was no dream or explains me being in the hallway.

I've personally had two encounters with a shadow man.
The first, I was only 12 and I woke up early at dawn break from a horrid nightmare. I lived in my aunt's guest house with my mother and younger sister. I looked in the kitchen and witnessed a very tall shadow of a man with a trench coat and a top hat. He stood there and we stared at each other for what seemed like eternity. I lifted my covers to walk over and he walked out of my sight to the other side of the kitchen. Once I walked in, he was nowhere to be seen.
My second encounter was only a few nights ago. I'm 20 years old and all of the women in my family are psychic whether they want to believe it or not.
I was having nightmares all night. In the dream, I was playing around with my spouse and our dog. My lover went to step back and I told him to watch out for the young man behind him. DJ looked at me and questioned, "What man honey?" The shadow man looked right at me and I could feel his mischievous energy as he was walking towards me. I then jolted out of bed and terrible things have been happening since.
Our dog got terribly sick and made a mess all over the house and DJ has been accusing me of ridiculous things he knows that I would never do. He tells me to never think or speak of the shadow man because they aren't good. He doesn't take pictures of himself because he once saw a shadow man in one and has made the decision to never take his picture again.

I don’t know exactly where to begin but, as a very young child (even when I was in the crib, before I could speak), I saw many strange things.
The one that seems to bewilder me the most are what I called “shadow people”. I NEVER heard anyone use the term before.
What shocks me most are the following details that I can remember.
1. I could almost never see them ‘straight on’. It was almost always from my peripheral vision.
But when I could see them straight on they would ‘freeze’ and not move until I either blinked or looked elsewhere.
2. The only one (of many ) that I could actually see seemed to be wearing a trench coat and fedora hat.
(I was shocked to see that so many people have seen the identical thing, and I thought I was the only one who saw this strange stuff).
3. They move VERY, VERY fast.
4. Most of the time the eyes were red, but I recall sometimes they were white.
What shocks me now, looking back, is that apparently I’m not the only one who has seen such things. I seriously thought it was just a freak thing of my childhood and, as a result, I never shared this information until now.
Personally, I think these things are in the realm of demons/demonology and such. But I am also intrigued that there appears to be very little information about these ‘shadow people’. Again, it’s very interesting to see that those who have seen such things see exactly what I have seen – no matter where in the world they see them.

Subject: My story with Shadow People
My story happened about 2007 in Roswell, Georgia. I was in my doctor’s office and along with myself and my doctor. There was a nurse also present. We were talking about a recent trip I took, and while the doctor was speaking, I noticed shadowy people (I had no idea that they were called that at the time, as I had never read anything about it). Anyway, there were many just standing and milling around. Then an apparition appeared of a man with white hair, a hat, and a sports jacket on. The jacket had the suede patches at the elbows. I only saw the top half of him, and certainly didn’t know who he was. I remember at the time that I wished the doctor and nurse would be quiet so I could understand what I was seeing. It all finally disappeared.
Let me preface this next part as to what happened either later that year or the first of the next year. I was adopted as a baby and found my biological brother and his family in Dallas, Texas. I visited them and, in the course of the conversation, I mentioned the incident at the doctor’s office. They said that the man I saw was my biological father who had died the year before my doctor’s visit. All his jackets had the patches at the elbow. He also had white hair and wore hats. My niece said she also saw him while she was driving, and he didn’t say anything to her, but just sat there.
That is my story. I wasn’t alarmed or anxious during the event. I just didn’t know what it was. I guess I feel honored to have witnessed perhaps a visit from my father.

I am 44 year old male and I live by myself in a small town called Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands. Recently I’ve had two encounters with a Shadow Person.
The first time was a couple of months ago. I was standing in the kitchen and it felt someone was standing behind me. When I looked over my shoulder, I saw a shadow person. One moment it was there and the next, it was gone. I turned on all the lights in my apartment but I was the only one there. This happened late in the evening.
Last Saturday night, 23th of April, 2016 between twelve and one o`clock, I saw one again. I was standing with my back against the kitchen counter looking at a painting hanging on the wall, which separates the kitchen area from the living room area, just being lost in thought and to my left, I saw a shadow person walking from behind the wall towards the windows on the left. Again, this only lasted for a second. I have no idea if there is any meaning to this encounter but it is sure intriguing.

I just wanted to start this off by saying you have my full permission to post this on your site and anyone can respond if they like.
When I was maybe 5 or 6, I was playing in my backyard while my Dad was chopping branches off of our tree. It was the middle of the day and bright outside. on our back lawn was a pile of branches from the tree. So anyways, I was playing with a stick, when I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned, and on the other side of the pile of sticks was a humanoid figure, black as night. It wasn't wispy or see through or anything. It was solid looking with no discernible features. Its proportions were, off, for lack of a better term. I couldn't see most of its body, due to the pile of sticks and my height at the time, but it's head was elongated (I initially thought it was wearing a top hat) and its arms were very thin and it was slightly hunched. It was moving across my backyard, but it seemed like it was hovering rather than walking, because its shoulders never moved at all. It never even acknowledged me, just kept moving across the lawn.
I stared at it for a few seconds, then turned to get my dad's attention, who was busy with the tree and when I turned back, it had vanished. It never seemed hostile or anything. It seemed like it had something to do. The strange thing was that I didn't feel scared of it. As a 5-year-old seeing an apparition in broad daylight, I should have been terrified but I was more curious than anything. I have never seen it or anything like it again, but a small part of me wants to.
It's been over 10 years and only today decided to google it. I was amazed to find out that this is an actual phenomenon.

Ok, so this experience happened when I was 15 and is the only time. I hear a lot of stories about black shadow people but my experience is different. I remember sleeping in my room when I heard two people who were quite talkative (though I don't remember what exactly they were saying). I still had my eyes closed but was awake. At first, I thought it was my mom and her boyfriend talking so I opened my eyes and as soon as I did, the talking came to a dead silence as if they knew the exact moment my eyes opened.
I saw two glowing blue beings. They resembled shadows (no features but clearly human shaped) they stood motionless. I remember how bright blue they were; a blue hard to explain, almost pure. The light was self-contained it didn't light the room or cast light on anything else. Down by my feet I saw a glowing blue cat. It was walking up to me from the bottom of my bed I could feel and see the indentation of its paws on my bed as it crawled toward me. I sprung out of bed and ran out of my room. I didn't sleep in my room for months I slept on the couch. I didn't feel threatened by them; it was just frightening waking up to "people" In your room.
The thing is, I had a pet cat who got hit by a car right outside my house a few days prior and I believe the cat was him. As I look back on it, I almost feel as if the beings brought the cat to see me one last time.
I've tried looking up stories similar to mine but all I hear is of the black shadow people. I would love to know if anyone else has seen these extremely vibrant blue shadow people.

Subject: Shadow People
Ever since I was a child, I remember catching glimpses of something moving from the corner of my eye or feeling like someone was watching me. I would tell my parents about it but it would be dismissed as my imagination. So growing up I never really though much of it.
However, the past few years, the occurrences have become much more vivid. The most notable occurrences have happened within the past month. I'm a truck driver, and most of my days start around 4am.
About a month ago, I was doing a pre-trip inspection of my trailer. When I turned around and began walking to my truck, I turned on my flashlight and about 10 feet in front of me was a full bodied figure that vanished as soon as my light hit it. Being that it was early in the morning and I was somewhat tired, I figured I was just seeing things. However, this past Monday I was driving to a customer in Michigan (this was at about 10am, and the sun was out) and about a quarter mile ahead of me I saw a black figure run from the shoulder of the road into the woods. Again, thinking I could just be tired and seeing things I dismissed it.
However, driving back home to Chicago, nearly the same thing happened. A black figure in the distance ran across the road and into the brush and wooded area on the side of the road. This time I decided to pull over and google search: "Why do I keep seeing black figures running". I wanted to make sure I wasn’t having some sort of medical problem and that’s when I discovered that shadow people are a somewhat common occurrence, and most experiences I’ve read are similar to mine.
So all my life I have been surrounded by the presence of these "shadow people". While I don't necessarily welcome them, as it is quite a shock when I see them...I have never been harmed. I believe they are some sort of "visitor" who are just here to observe. What are your thoughts on this? I'm a 21-year-old male. Pretty healthy for the most part, I don’t smoke or do drugs, rarely drink and I have a very low intake of caffeine. Thank you in advance for your time.

One night, I noticed a dark shadow leaning against a chair in the middle of my room. I turned the flashlight on from my phone and it disappeared but when I took it away it showed right back up. It just stands there every night staring at me and every time I enter my room, I get this feeling something is staring at me and this feeling of pure evil.
It has a male body and it is the darkest shade of black I have ever seen. Its blacker then the darkness in my room at night without any lights or window open. It shows up every night for about half an hour then disappears by just fading away. I got my friend to spend the night in my room and he said he saw it too now he's afraid to even come in my home. It has me worried for the safety of me and my mother and I really don't know what to do.

I was at a friend’s house in Cleveland, TN. a few years ago. I am 52 years old now so I was about 47 then and we were hanging out and partying a little. The house is an old house and sits off in the woods and has a very long driveway from the road up to the house and is covered in gravel.
It was late at night and we had just gone outside because she was trying to find a flashlight that was somewhere in the trunk of my car and I was standing on the porch watching her. I don't know why but I turned my head and stared down to the road at the end of the driveway. As I said before, the driveway was very long, covered in gravel and curved. As I looked toward the road, I saw a solid black, hooded figure looking at me but could see no face. However, it would have been hard to see a face from that distance anyway but as I watched, the thing started running up the driveway and ran faster than I had ever seen anything run before in my life. The worst part was, that I heard absolutely no gravel underneath its feet. It kept turning its head very quickly toward me but I could never see a face. I was paralyzed with fear and could not even call out to my friend. It was moving so fast and just kept getting closer and turning its head. The closer it got, the more I felt that if it made it to me, then I would die. When it got about 15 feet away and still no sound of gravel and no face I said, "Please God help me," and it just vanished.
All of that night I had chest pain, and I prayed all night long. When I woke up I completely stopped partying and decided to get my life together. I have never seen a shadow person since but lately people are talking about their experiences and so I thought that I would share mine. I believe that my shadow person was bringing death and in order to stop it then I had to make a drastic change and have the help of God in order to achieve it.
I don't know if you can use my story but here you have it. I know that they exist and although some people here probably like to tell ghosts stories, this one is for real and was the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me but probably the best thing that has happened to me.

I am 53. Just before I turned 5 we lived on an isolated sheep property near White Cliffs, New South Wales, Australia. I was sleeping in the lounge room and woke up one night to see the shadow of a man standing in the corner of the room. It was partly in front of a window, and seemed solid. The shadow blocked the lighter window behind.
At that stage we didn’t have TV and I hadn’t learned to be afraid of the dark, etc, so I got up and went over to it. When I got close I reached my hands up to touch it and, for some reason, I said ‘Mum’? even though I knew it wasn’t Mum, but my hands kept going, crossing over as they went in and I could see them going into the shadow. This is when I felt unnerved. I left the room and went to knock on my parent’s door but couldn’t wake them.
I went back into the lounge, it was gone. I went through to my brothers’ room and slept with them.
I wasn’t frightened as such. I did feel he had been standing there looking at me, but not in a threatening way. He didn’t react at all or move, but I knew he was watching me approach. I don’t know what would have happened if I hadn’t tried to touch him. It was the shock that made me leave, not the fact there was the shadow of a man standing in my room. I didn’t feel threatened, just unnerved.
I’d always thought it was a ghost but a few years ago I discovered other people have seen shadows like the one I saw.

I've always believed in ghosts I've had many visit me throughout my life. I'm now 51. A couple years ago I rented a house that had a detached garage I made this into my office, I spent many hours working late. One night I heard a man's voice say my name. It startled me I got up calmly walked out of the office and went into the house to get my daughter. She and I went back to the office and saw a tall slender man with a hat on and a long black coat. He had no face, but we could tell that it was time to lock up and go in for the night.
The next time my 8-year-old son came running outside saying he saw a man with a hat on in he's room. I went into the house and as I walked down the hall I felt a chill go through my body. He followed me around for months trying to get my attention however I didn't acknowledge him. He would even have appeared in my TV set.
Once I was very sleepy the hall way light was on and I looked up at my TV and saw the man hanging from my door way. I spoke to him and told him to stop. I went to sleep.
I've moved since then but every now and then I still see him.

Subject: Encounter circa 1993. Myrtles Plantation St. Francisville, La. USA
In 1993 I spent several nights at The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, La. This encounter took place at a time before this B & B became a major tourist attraction. This occurred a few weeks before Christmas, and we were the only guests checked into the main house. The management left at dusk, and we were the only occupants of the house.
My brother lives in St. Francisville, and I invited him and his wife over. We were up in what was then called the Bridal Suite at the top of the main staircase. Around 1:30 am or so, everyone in the suite heard a loud crash coming from downstairs. (It sounded like someone kicked over a table and lamp...it was that loud.) My first thought was a break in, because all the first floor doors and windows were locked. My brother and I went down to investigate. After walking into the ladies' parlor, I caught a brief glimpse of a figure laying on its side on the Game Room floor. It looked about six feet tall, was coal black in color and had no face! It appeared to be lounging on its side, with one arm propping up its head. It seemed to be watching us search in vain for the source of the noise. I immediately entered the room to my left, and found nothing. There was no damage or break in, and I kept the encounter to myself until later.
Several days after the trip, I asked my friend if she experienced anything strange during our stay. I told her nothing of what I saw, and she related the following. The night of my brother's visit, she was alone in the gentleman's parlor around 9:00 pm. She was waiting for me to join her, when she saw a similar entity. It was large, coal black, no facial features and was peeking at her from around a door frame! It did this "peek-a-boo" routine several times, until she left the room. She thought that her eyes were playing tricks on her, and she kept the sighting to herself that night.
I have no idea what this thing was, but we both saw it. This encounter is true and accurate to the best of my recollection.

So I was laying in my room when I saw a shadow cross the light under my door. I opened the door expecting to see my dog. However as soon as I opened my door, a tall thin figure with these green eyes ran towards my guest bedroom. It surprised me at first so I walked towards the guest room and was starting to turn on the light when the figure ran towards me. I ran back to my room and shut the door.
The encounter started at about 11:30. The figure appeared to be 5'9 and had no features other than the eyes. It was a smoky black color. I woke up my brother and together we went into the room. At first I didn't see anything. Then I saw movement in the closet. We shut the closet door and went back to the room to formulate a battle plan. By the time we got back the door was cracked slightly. Terrified and armed with pocket knives we threw open the door to reveal an empty closet. The figure did not appear again that night. It was a goosebumps experience and I still do not know where it went.
My brother did see it the next evening, since then I have seen the being several times.
My dogs appear to be afraid of it. On one of the sightings, the dog was in the living room and came running into my room, whining at the doorway. As I walked out to see what it was, the being was standing a little ways away and then just vanished into the darker part of the room.

Subject: Shadow people story
It was a warm summer night in California and I was 8 years old at the time.
I had got past the point of sleeping in my parents bed in fear of the night, but for some reason this night had a weird feeling to it; a heavy feeling and it made me very uncomfortable.
I go to my parent’s room to see if I could sleep in their bed with them but they refused. After grabbing my pillows and blankets, I decide that I am still going to sleep in their room on the floor. Being a warm California summer night, my parents had the window open which faced the moonless pitch black of our backyard. I fall asleep rather easily on the floor, but around 3 am I'm woken up to that same heavy feeling and the sound of dried leaves rustling in the backyard. I lean up to see what is making the noise. Seeing nothing at first, I almost lay back down to fall asleep until I saw a shadow moving in the dark.
Coming from the dark area where our fence meets the neighbors, I see a wispy figure slowly moving through the grass. It looks like a dementor or a ring wraith, and has shadowy wisps that look like black flames protruding from it as it walks. Not knowing what to do, I try and bolster up my prepubescent voice to make it sound deeper and say "Hey! Get out of here!" The figure stops and slowly turns its head to look at me. My heart sinks to my chest as I make eye contact with its faintly glowing eyes. After what feels like 5 minutes of eye contact, the figure slowly turns its head forward and continues to walk the same slow pace it began with until it walks out of sight past our add-on indoor patio area that is connected to our kitchen towards the opposite side of the fence from where it came (where there is no exit). I quickly run to the kitchen to see where this figure is going, only to see nothing. The figure vanished, and to this day, I swear I see it every so often.
