Shadow People;

I was over 50 before I saw my first shadow person, but I have seen many ghost, and they are different. I was living in a 1950 brick ranch in Taylor, Michigan across from a cemetery on a dead end road. This appealed to my paranormal side but my time there was mostly uneventful.

I was home alone in my living room. A terrific storm was raging; lighting was flashing very quick and the thunder was rolling. It was about 6 o'clock in the afternoon, not yet dark but over cast and storm clouds. All of a sudden, a loud crash sounded and all the power went out in the house. Startled, I looked up from tying my shoes and saw a small figure no more than 3 feet tall and all grey. It was a silhouette and it appeared to be wearing a cape of some sort and a bonnet. It didn't look at me but moved very fast across the room and into the wall. It was clear to me that it was startled that I saw it and clearly it came into my mind as if someone spoke to me, "You were not supposed to see that".

I got the feeling it was a female and although she was very tiny, I didn't feel it was a child, she moved super-fast, but not running more like gliding, but so very quick. If I had not looked up at that split-second I would not have seen it. It lasted maybe 10 seconds at the most. She really didn't want me to see her and was perturbed.

I often wondered if she came from the cemetery across the street, perhaps the energy from the storm caused her to be seen. I never saw her again. My mother saw shadow people and orbs in that house, but I never experienced anything else there.

On ghosts:

I have had paranormal experiences from the time I was a small child, to the point where I am seldom afraid any more when they happen. I will tell you about a few that stand out as memorial.

When I was about 11 or 12 my family lived in a haunted house, footsteps all the time, sightings of black orbs, loud crashing sounds that we could never figure out what they were. One night we were all coming back from my grandma's house, even the dog was with us. Well as we pulled into the driveway we saw a hand pull back the drapes like someone was looking out at us. They stayed that way for about 30-40 seconds and then dropped. I said "Did you see that?" and my father said "What did you see?' He admitted that he also saw it and my mom said she saw the same thing. Dad made us stay in the car and went in the house and checked it out, no one was in the house and all the doors and windows were locked.

Things continued as normal, everyday something weird, lights on and off, footsteps, this was normal. No one liked the basement at all, we all tried to stay out of there. I came home from school one day and my sister and I had chores to do, mine was to clean the bathroom, as I was cleaning the toilet as only a 12-year-old could, with a book in one hand and a brush in the other, the bathroom sink turned on by itself. We all saw a man in a red checked shirt from time to time and an old woman. This was typical for my family and experienced by everyone in the family.
