Subject: My latest visitor

My most recent experience was just last night. About 11:00 pm EST. I live in N.Y. state Cattaraugus County in Salamanca. I moved into this apartment on September 5 2014. I live in a back lower apartment. I discovered after moving in how cold the place is. So my utility bill is high almost all 12 months of the year. There are lots of big trees and it's a little "dark" out back. I call it living on the dark side. Was a little joke of mine. Nice big spacious place I loved immediately. I have 2 birds, a Nanday Conure and a grey cockatiel. My cockatiel is 24 years old, I hand raised him from a chick at 3 weeks old.

For the first year we lived here my bird would not leave my head! He was terrified. I couldn't figure out why? He refused to sleep alone, so he slept with me every night on my pillow for over a year. In years past, he would promptly go to bed by himself every night at 7:00 pm. Just like clockwork. Now he would shake even when he was perched on my head, I thought he was cold.

After living here a few months more odd things happened. A couple of food items come up missing. Just gone, you may dismiss this as a loss of memory? No. I'm a person who puts the same thing in the same place every time so I know where it is and how many I have.

My first experience of a "shadow person" was a few months ago. I had just gotten into bed, lowered my head down ready to close my eyes and sleep and then, a very tall black shadow walked across the room. It's about 7 or 8 foot from the bed. At first I was scared. But I remember thinking to myself that's almost the same height as my ex-boyfriend and he's 6'1". The shadow had legs I could see them move as he crossed the room. It was definitely a male figure. Not just by sight but also sensed it.

My second time here in this apartment was just last night. It was around 11:00 pm. I was getting ready for bed: covered up my conure with her blanket, turned off the television, checked the thermostat (gets cold at night here), grabbed my phone and walked thru the kitchen to the bathroom; my nightly routine. Came back to give the bird one last look, I was in the doorway to the living room. I was awake and standing erect. I wasn't dreaming or having night terrors. I saw him again but I think it was a different one. I don't know why, I just felt it was different. He was around 6 foot and as tall as my front door. He was about 10 feet away from me. I could see his figure or shape. Black but he wasn't just a mass, he had a head shoulders too. No hat though. I was frightened!

My first feelings were very bad. This a bad one. Its evil is what I felt. There are no car lights out back here from the street. There's a small parking lot for just a few cars. The neighbors were already home or at work. I didn't hear any noises just saw him straight on and not from the corners of my eyes.

I went to my bedroom and called my friend from my cellphone. He said, “Don't be afraid”, after I told my story. He said it might a "good" one. I said, “No it's not what I got from him.” So I'm waiting and not anxiously to see what's next.

There's also been other little things happening: very small items missing, not lost just gone. Cannot find after looking for months. I just gave up. The one thing that really bothers me is my birds get VERY upset when I'm going somewhere even to check the mailbox! They have never minded that before in the past. They get frightened and scream and when I return, they are very happy to see me. They have always been excited to see me come home but never minded me going out before.
