Back when I was in the 10th grade my family used to live in a old duplex home which had a wall broken down to make it one big house. With that said, I lived on one side of the house and my family lived on the other side. I was in the back room one day playing my Nintendo 64. That room used to be the old kitchen which I never used. Instead I had an extra bed thrown in there with a television. The room is set up as follows. When you look at the television against the wall, to its immediate right is the door to go into my room. To the left was the old door to go to the back yard which was now blocked with a piece of wood hammered into the wall. In front of that door is the restroom. I'm sitting on the bed and behind me is the sink and a small window. On the window I had a piece of cloth which blocked the sun from coming into the house. Also, the house is already about 3 feet off the ground.
Now I am in the back room one day playing The Legend of Zelda for the 64 and while I'm playing it, I feel as if someone is watching me. I had already heard sounds in other houses we lived in so I am used to feeling of being watched. As I am playing the game, I notice a shadow walking on the wall into my room. I froze because this had been the first time I had seen something of this magnitude. But it was walking real slow toward my room. I watched it walk into the room and when I got up and investigated the room, no one was there.
A few weeks later my mom had just picked me up from high school and asked me if I wanted to go to HEB with her. (HEB is a grocery store) I told her no and she dropped me off at our home. I went and dropped off my backpack in my room and made my way to the kitchen. For some reason, I decided to turn on the living room light as I entered the kitchen. The two switches were side by side. There standing in front of me was a black figure about 5' 6". It was standing at the entrance to the laundry room. I took a step back and it stood there watching me. But at that time I remembered what my grandma used to say, "Don't be scared of them because they can't hurt you." As soon as I stopped and took one step towards it, it took a step back and vanished into the air. I immediately searched the house to verify I was the only one there.
Beyond that, I saw nothing else in that house but I continued to hear footsteps and objects moved when I was alone. I liked the fact of being in a house with some paranormal activity. In the house that followed things got worse for me but I'll save that for another time.
